Valentines, Schmalentines. Don’t get me wrong, I’m perfectly happy for all of you out there celebrating. I just have bigger things to celebrate today, ie. the birth of my most favorite man in the world. James is truly the best thing in my life, and today he turns 30. Admittedly, he is slightly mopey about getting older. I keep saying that he is sitting Shiva and mourning his 20′s. I’m fairly certain that a delicious dinner and the most awesome of gifts (to be revealed after he has opened it later) will cheer him up.

Life with James is, in a word, fulfilling. He challenges me, makes me laugh, and I couldn’t ask for a better balance in a partner. Here are 30 photos representing that life. Many thanks to Li Ward, Kristin Harvey, and any others who have provided photos over the years. I’m determined to make 2013 the year James willingly lets me take his portrait. I’m predicting this to be a big year for him.
