Today was filled with many frustrations. After an epic week of 3 back to back trips, including one GORGEOUS wedding, my favorite engagement shoot to date, and a second shooting gig that left me with many laughs/stories, this week started with a more difficult tone. Sick, tired, difficult schedule changes… and the news that my blog was down. Many aggravating emails later, most things are fixed (except my ear… some things, like Drs & actual medicine, have simply not gone digital). What I need now is a few moments of peace before jumping back into the day, soul refreshed. Thankfully, the song I had prepared for today does just that.

Allow me to lay out the 5 layers of awesome that is wrapped in this song… it is

1. a cover (guilty pleasure) of….

2.  a Simon & Garfunkle song (siiiigh)…

3. Featuring Mumford & Sons (who make my hear soar)…

4.  as well as Paul Simon himself (who is an all-time favorite)…

5. and this song does, as one reviewer mentioned prior to me, “monopolize your soul for 4 minutes”.

Please excuse me while I rest for a moment, eyes closed, world tuned out, and let this song revive me. I hope it does the same for a few of you.

Cheers,

Briana

Since I was a wee one visiting my father at his home in New Orleans, I have made a habit of turning on this song & just dancing. 20 years later, the bliss of this simple act has not dwindled one bit. I danced to this with my dad as a child. I dance to this with my husband now. I will dance to this in the future with my own children. This song makes me happy, for so many reasons, so it’s time to share the joy. I invite you to take a minute today to turn up the volume, play this song, and dance around without any inhibitions. I guarantee I’ll be doing the same thing at least once today.

Cheers, Briana
