Happy 4th of July! I’m not a huge fan of patriotic songs, so instead, allow me to share a taste of what is sure to be the soundtrack of my summer. Choosing just one song from this album was extremely difficult, and I wish I could simply stream the length of this masterpiece & bless your sweet ears with all 40 beautiful minutes.I feel as if I can’t do a better job describing this album than Kevin Farr’s review: “He took time on this album, and it shows; the location-based song titles create a mosaic of Vernon’s adventures, each track symbolizing a place, state of mind and concept which was exploredEach song is strong and can stand alone but when all of the tracks (and even the album art) are explored in their totality, the true magic of Vernon’s uncommon and truly authentic sound comes to life”.

I am a visual person and as I listen to this, I wish I had more experience with video so I could one dare share what passes through my consciousness as this plays. Snapshots and blurs of summer bliss, warm evenings, intermittent gentle breezes & powerful winds, expansive fields, reflections upon still lakes, the charm of fireflies & the awe of fireworks. I snagged this album just in time for my vacation. We leave tomorrow for 3 days of camping on a lake in Maine. Perhaps I can capture enough to set a good slideshow to this song. On that note… I’ll be MIA until Friday. :)

Cheers,

Briana
